Company A, 13th Virginia Infantry Regiment has a membership representing a cross section of the mid-Atlantic region. The membership is diverse in background and age.

Company A is affiliated with 3rd Regiment, 1st Division, Army of Northern Virginia, the mid-Atlantic Confederate umbrella organization. This affiliation affords our membership an opportunity to participate at medium and large reenactments under familiar, competent, trusted and sympathetic leadership.

Our reenacting year begins with an annual brunch meeting in mid-January. At this meeting the membership elects its leadership (Captain, First and Second Sergeants, First and Second Corporals and civilian coordinator) and establishes the event schedule for the year. The first outing occurs in March with the last outdoor event being in December.

For many years our unit has held the flank position within 3rd Regiment - a position of honor and trust during the Civil War and today. We are best recognized, and relied on, for our fast moving deployment as skirmishers. Our unit's ability to develop individual leadership, command and maneuvering skills are recognized at higher levels. Several members have been handpicked by the Regimental Commander for staff positions.
